Woman of the Country

The woman of the Country is in organic form… or she is of, in, and is the Country (much like Mother Earth or Gaia in Greek Mythology). My interpretation of the woman of the Country seen in this art piece is signifying the strength women have always had for family, community, and most importantly in themselves. NAIDOC 2018 said it better than I ever could, ‘Because of Her, We Can’. This piece also symbolises the deep routes I have in Country between my birth home in Uralla NSW and my second home in the Pilbara WA.
