Colours of our Country is an annual Aboriginal art exhibition that brings the culture, stories and creativity of Pilbara Aboriginal artists to audiences in Boorloo / Perth and online.
First held as a pop-up event to celebrate 40 years of Rio Tinto iron ore operations in Western Australia, the exhibition has grown into a much-loved platform that connects art lovers with talented artists from across the Pilbara and the meaningful stories behind their work.
Since it began, Colours of our Country has sold nearly 3,100 artworks and generated more than A$3.4 million in art sales for Pilbara Aboriginal artists, art centres and their communities.
Rio Tinto is proud to be the founder and continued supporter of the exhibition, helping shine a light on Pilbara talent and creating more opportunities to share culture, Country and stories through art.
