Stepping Stones

Milinja at 45 (Stepping Stones). This painting is a memory, when we would go out bush for the day, we’d have our dinner down at the river. We’d take our lines and catch fish – we’d catch perch, but we call it Milinja. There’d be a pool of water there, all jumping over the stones to get from one pool to the next. This is just how we grew up. All our families together. We had a few spots, we called it 45 because it was 45km from Roebourne. It’s also known as Njarnduna
