Moonlit Ripples

Jason Lockyer
On Country, the full moon reflects in a still waterhole, glowing like a pearl in the dark. Its light spreads in perfect rings, rippling across the surface, touching every edge.
The deep blues and purples are the night sky mirrored in the water, the quiet broken only by the sound of Country breathing.
This is my memory of standing at the water’s edge, watching the moon dance across its skin.
