Janice Sandy is a Yindjibarndi artist from Roebourne. Part of the Stolen Generation, she was taken as a baby to a hostel in Perth and wasn’t able to return to her Country until 1982 at the age of 12. Janice began painting in 2006 and is the youngest sister of prominent Yinjaa-Barni artists Aileen and Allery Sandy. She uses sponges and varied brush sizes to create patterns on canvas. Janice has exhibited in the Pilbara, Perth and Sydney. She now lives in Karratha with her husband and family.

Janice Sandy is part of Yinjaa-Barni Art Centre. Yinjaa-Barni Art is a collective of Aboriginal artists who predominantly belong to the Yindjibarndi language group and whose ancestral homelands surround the Fortescue River and Millstream Tablelands.
