Maadirra
Tenellia “Biju” Lockyer
The Desert Yam that we call “Maadirra” in the Yindjibarndi language. A source of bush tucker for Aboriginal people for centuries. The bright pink/purplish flowers are a sign that the tubers are ready to be dug up, the tubers are then placed under a warm earth oven and peeled when cooked.
Prices will be released when the exhibition opens and sales go live on Monday 16 September.
